COACH DALE BROWN, who served as head coach of the LSU basketball team for 25 years, (1972-1997), is one of the top motivational speakers in the U.S. The creator of a syndicated radio program called Motivational Moments on NPR, he also served as a college basketball analyst for ESPN and ABC.

As LSU coach, he was twice named National Basketball Coach of the Year, led his team to two Final Fours and four Elite Eights, and emerged as the second-winningest coach in SEC history. About Marcelle:

MARCELLE BIENVENU is a cookbook author and food writer who has been preparing Cajun and Creole dishes since the 1960s. She is currently a chef/instructor at the John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

She has written a weekly food column, "Creole Cooking," for The Times Picayune of New Orleans since 1984. She's worked as a researcher and consultant for Time-Life Books, contributing to a series of books titled Foods of the World. She's been featured in Food & Wine, Southern Living, Redbook, The New York Times, and other publications.

She co-authored several other cookbooks, including four with renowned Chef Emeril Lagasse. With Judy Walker, food editor for The Times-Picayune, she co-authored Cooking Up A Storm, which was nominated for a James Beard Award in 2009.

About Trent:

TRENT ANGERS, nominated twice for the Nobel Prize in Literature (2000 and 2001), is a veteran journalist who has authored thousands of published news and feature stories, as well as five books, in a writing and editing career that has spanned four decades.

His books are: The Truth About The Cajuns (1989); Dudley LeBlanc: A Biography (1993); The Forgotten Hero Of My Lai: The Hugh Thompson Story (1999); Grand Coteau: The Holy Land of South Louisiana (2004); and An Airboat on the Streets of New Orleans (2008).

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Louisiana State University in 1970, served an apprenticeship at The Palm Beach (Florida) Post, and worked for a number of years as a staff correspondent for The Times-Picayune of New Orleans.

For 36 years (1975 – 2010), Angers was editor and publisher of Acadiana Profile, "The Magazine of the Cajun Country," based in Lafayette, La.; it is one of the longest-running regional publications in the United States.

About Jady:

JADY REGARD is a native of New Iberia, Louisiana, and a proud season ticket holder of the Louisiana State University Tigers. He is a 1992 graduate of LSU, where he earned his B.A. in Psychology. Jady also holds a Masters in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University.

He worked in professional sports for 11 years before returning to south Louisiana to rear his family and tailgate at football games as often as possible. He now lives in Lafayette, Louisiana, with his wife, Olivia, his son, Hays and his daughter, Camille.

JACKLYN SONNIER HIRSHBERG is an anthropologist who studied at the University of Houston, focusing on the culture of Native Americans. After living in Houston for 25 years, she returned to her hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana, and was introduced to the nearby Atchafalaya River Basin, which she now considers "The Eighth Wonder of the World."

A tour of the swamp with the late swamp guide D. Ray "Half Pint" Guillory in the summer of 1997 developed into a two-year course of learning about the basin and the variety of wildlife which inhabits this vast semi-wilderness area.

About Dr. Vanderwall:

FRANCIS W. VANDERWALL is a retreat leader, spiritual director and associate professor of theology at Our Lady of the Lakes College in Baton Rouge, La., and chairman of the religious studies and philosophy department.

A former Jesuit, he has for many years been a facilitator and leader of workshops on liturgy, ecclesial ministries, prayer, spirituality and behavior modification.

He has a doctoral degree in the Psychology of Religion from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, as well as a masters of divinity in Theology and the Fine Arts from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley.

He has written and had published several books, including Water in the Wilderness: Paths of Prayer, Springs for Life (1985), Spiritual Direction: An Invitation to Abundant Life (1981), and Freedom From Fear: A Way Through the Ways of Jesus the Christ (1999).
