Roseate Spoonbills are among the wading and water birds that flourish in the Cypress Island area, in part because of an abundance of crawfish and other readily available foods. These spoonbills are taking time out to clean and preen after feeding on crawfish at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Crawfish Research Center, located in Cade, La., several miles from the preserve. |
