ANITA G. GUIDRY (1919-2020) was a resident of Church Point, La., for 96 years and wrote the book on her hometown in recognition of its centennial, which occurred in 1973. The mother of five, she was the great-granddaughter of two of the first settlers of her community. She also authored a cookbook titled From Mama to Me: Acadian-Cajun Recipes.
