JEFFERSON HENNESSY (1956-2016) was an accomplished writer who wrote extensively about the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. His work, including the definitive account of “The Cajun Navy” rescue effort in New Orleans, appears in Acadiana Profile magazine and in the 2015 book, The Terrible Storms of 2005. A resident of Lafayette, La., he earned his M.A. degree in English from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
